Sophia Elzie
Sophia is a PhD Candidate in Comparative Literary Studies with a home department in Classics and a Mellon Interdisciplinary Fellowship in Theatre and Performance Studies. She received her BA in Classical Languages and Literature from Agnes Scott College and her MSt in Greek and/or Latin Languages and Literature from the University of Oxford, St. Hilda's College. Sophia's dissertation project examines contemporary productions of classical Greek tragedies in Chicago through the lenses of theatre semiotics and reception theory. When not at her desk, she can be found exploring new neighborhoods in the city, attending plays, and visiting museums.
