Home Department: Political Science
Jinxue Chen is a 2nd year PhD student in Political Theory. She started her undergraduate study with a major in Chinese Classics, then transferred to St. John’s College to study the Western canon. She is amazed by the profound impact Ancient Greek concepts (logos, eidos, arete, isonomia, etc) have on political theory, and is hoping to learn more Ancient Greek language and philosophy by affiliating with the Classics Cluster. In her research, she is interested in the relationship between the current globalized world and its diverse cultural heritages. Jinxue grew up in China and has attended universities in four countries. She always enjoys conversations on culture, literature, philosophy, and political thought.
